It is generally not permitted to privately keep Belgian Malinois in Baoding. This is because the Belgian Malinois is classified as a large, potentially dangerous breed with a significant bite force. While they are highly trainable, loyal to their owners, and excel as working dogs, they are not typically suitable for densely populated urban environments.

Belgian Malinois are often banned in cities like Baoding due to their classification as large and powerful dogs. They possess a strong bite and, even when well-trained and obedient to their owners, they can be bold, aggressive, and territorial towards strangers. They are known to attack if they perceive a threat, which is why many cities restrict their ownership. While the intelligence, loyalty, and trainability of the Belgian Malinois are well-documented, these traits that make them excellent military and police dogs do not necessarily make them ideal family pets. This breed requires experienced owners who can provide consistent training, socialization and proper care.

How Much Does a Belgian Malinois Cost?

The price of a Belgian Malinois can vary considerably. Non-purebred Malinois typically cost less, ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 yuan. These dogs are often purchased as watchdogs for guarding properties. These dogs may not have all the typical traits and characteristics of a pure bred Malinois.

Purebred Belgian Malinois, known for their superior intelligence, work ethic, and loyalty, are more expensive, generally costing between 1,500 and 2,500 yuan. These dogs will have a higher likelihood to inherit good traits from their breed such as intelligence, athleticism, and trainability.

Belgian Malinois with pedigree, showing a strong lineage, good looks, and exceptional genetics, can fetch prices exceeding 3,000 yuan. Top-tier purebred Malinois can even cost upwards of 10,000 yuan. The actual price is determined by various factors, including location, breeding, and physical appearance. A breeder may charge more if the dog has been well-socialized as a puppy, has a good temperament and comes from healthy bloodlines.
