For Akitas with purebred lineage, the price can increase substantially. Japanese Akitas with pedigree can range from $1,500 to $4,500, while American Akitas of similar lineage typically cost between $1,500 and $4,200.

Additionally, the color of an Akita's coat can also impact its price. Generally, pure white Akitas are the most expensive, followed by red and black coats. Yellow and white are the most common and often the least expensive coat colors.
