New Environment and Fear
Parrots are not particularly bold creatures. If they are suddenly introduced to a new environment or surrounded by unfamiliar people, they can become very fearful, which often manifests as persistent squawking. If possible, returning them to their original environment might help. For newly acquired parrots, it's best to take things slow. Build trust by providing daily feeding and a consistently quiet atmosphere to help them feel safe and secure. This gentle approach can help reduce their anxiety and excessive vocalization.
Sudden Shock or Fright
Sudden frights can also cause parrots to squawk incessantly. This can result from exposure to strong, sudden light or very loud noises. To help a startled parrot, create a calm and comfortable setting. Avoid intense lighting and keep loud noises to a minimum. Given time and a stable environment, your parrot will eventually adjust and stop the excessive squawking.
Hunger and Thirst
If a parrot is not fed regularly or does not have access to fresh water, they will become hungry and/or thirsty, leading to constant squawking as a distress signal. Make sure they have ample access to clean, nutritious food, such as bird feed, fruits, and vegetables. Also, provide a water dish or bottle filled with fresh, clean water.
