Can You Own a Tibetan Mastiff in Changchun? Cost and Regulations

Owning a Tibetan Mastiff in Changchun is prohibited. This is primarily due to their large size and inherently aggressive nature, making them difficult to train. Keeping them within city limits poses significant safety concerns, leading to their classification as a banned breed.

The prohibition of Tibetan Mastiffs in Changchun is mainly attributed to their aggressive tendencies. They are highly territorial, extremely vigilant, and fiercely loyal to their owners. While affectionate towards their families, they display strong hostility towards strangers and are prone to attack. Even unintentional close proximity to a Tibetan Mastiff can trigger aggressive behavior, posing a serious threat to public safety in densely populated urban areas. Therefore, Tibetan Mastiffs are not suitable pets within city limits.

Furthermore, Tibetan Mastiffs aren't known for their high intelligence; their breed hasn't undergone extensive refinement, preserving their primal instincts. This inherent wildness makes them less obedient compared to other dog breeds. Their lower intelligence hinders their ability to understand commands, coupled with an innate arrogance, makes these dogs incredibly difficult to train. The inherent difficulties in training a Tibetan Mastiff makes them an unsuitable pet for urban environments.

Tibetan Mastiff Price Range

The current market prices for Tibetan Mastiff puppies vary greatly. Pet-grade puppies typically range from ¥5,000 to ¥15,000. Purebred Tibetan Mastiff puppies are priced between ¥15,000 and ¥20,000, while show-quality puppies can cost upwards of ¥20,000. Be cautious when encountering prices lower than this, as these are often associated with less healthy puppies. These lower prices often mean compromised pedigree and quality.
